Malta Sep 2010 - thumbs down

Generally, I was disappointed with my Malta trip, both reflecting that it was more expensive than it should have been for the quality given (esp food and lodging), the historical sites were not as interesting as I'd hoped, a lack of overall charm, and there is a feeling of being overrun by tourism. The fact that my car was towed because my hotel's parking lot was full, and I'd parked apparently in a place with a faded yellow marking indicating it was not allowed (particularly invisible at night) was the last straw. Malta is now on my no-go list. For the Mediterranean, o to Corsica, Croatia, Sardinia, southern Italy, southern Spain, Greek Islands, just don't go to Malta.

Oh and do not stay at the Paradise Bay Hotel, it's bad in so many ways, including the fact that people from Malta are posting complimentary reviews on Tripadvisor
